update date : 2023-02-09
Ming Chi University of Technology applied for the 19th National Innovation Award (NIA), and won the Innovative Incubator Award (新創育成獎), Innovative Academic Research Award (學研新創獎), and National Innovation Advancement Award (國家新創精進獎). President Thu-Hua Liu accepted the awards on behalf of the University.

According to President Liu, National Innovation Award has been the greatest honor for research institutes in the areas of biomedical technologies and health. Every year, more than 1,500 researchers and innovators participate in the competition, and currently the NIA is the most important platform for Taiwan startups. The Innovation and Incubation Center of Min Chi, which has helped develop more than one hundred small and medium companies for more than 20 years, won the Innovative Incubator Award this year. By coordinating with related enterprises, the center offers rich and required resources to those startups. It is expected that the Ming Chi Innovation & Science Park will be completed in the coming years, and the park must help more startups fulfill their potentials.

In the area of Specialty Chemicals & Materials and Applied Biotechnology, Professor Yu-Kaung Chang won the Innovative Academic Research Award. Professor Chang, who also gained the award in the previous year, won it again by applying breakthrough technologies to the downstream protein processing industry. As for the National Innovation Advancement Award, the recipient is Professor Chih-Chung Hu from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of MCUT. Professor Hu cooperates with Chang Gung Hospital, and their research results can effectively solve the loosening and infection problems of K-wire. Both Professor Chang and Professor Hu’s achievements are highly recognized and praised.

Ming Chi has interacted closely with the industry for years, and has been the best choice for enterprises which would like to develop Industry-University Collaboration partnerships.
